British Grand Prix Preview and FIA Showing No Love For Silverstone Circuit

The Santander British Grand Prix is number nine on the F1 circuit and running this weekend. The Silverstone track is known for its speed (second only to Monza) and posts average speeds of 230km/h (143mph) and a top speed in excess of 300km/h (186mph).

The home race for Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and David Coulthard, this years British Grand Prix includes 60 laps over a 5.141 km (3.1945 mile) circuit for a total race distance of 308.355 km (191.603 miles). The fast lap record holder is Michael Schumacher in 2004 with a time of 1:18.739.

Past top three finishes at the race include: Raikkonen, Alonso, Hamilton (2007), Alonso, M. Schumacher, Raikkonen (2006), Montoya, Alonso, Raikkonen (2005), M. Schumacher, Raikkonen, Barrichello (2004), and Barrichello, Montoya, Raikkonen (2003).
