You love racing, right? So, why not plan a summer vacation around it? There are so many top-tier racing events happening across the US this summer that it’s hard to just sit at home and watch it on TV! Pack the kids in the car or RV and get ready for an action-packed “race-cation!”
TRIP ITINERARY #1
Race Leagues to see: IRL, Moto GP, NASCAR Sprint
Trip Locations: Michigan, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana
Trip Dates: August 16 – August 30
Stop 1: August 16 2009: NASCAR Sprint Michigan 400 (Get Michigan 400 tickets)
Check out the NASCAR Sprint cars as they race to the checkered flag at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. If you can, get there a few days early to catch practice and qualifying.
Stop 2: August 22 2009: NASCAR Sprint Sharpie 500 (Get Sharpie 500 tickets)
Get your fill of NASCAR Sprint at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennesee. Race day is Saturday, so you’ve got almost a week to make your way down south for this one.
Stop 3: August 29 2009: IRL PEAK Antifreeze and Motor Oil Indy 300 (Get IRL PEAK Antifreeze Indy 300 tickets)
Switch gears with the Indy Racing League as they roll into the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. Another race day Saturday, so get there a few days early, then get ready to burn rubber yourself to get to the last leg of your vacation.
Stop 4: August 30: MotoGP Indianapolis (Get MotoGP Indianapolis tickets)
Ramp up the excitement for the last racing event of August. MotoGP brings the best of racing on two wheels: speedbikes! Catch the action at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana. Remember, this race day is the day after the IRL race, so make sure you do plenty of sightseeing beforehand so you don’t miss out.
